The “what did I just say” thing… wow. That’s all kinds of stupid. I guess people think they’re the first one to come up with that.

Definitely, the comments or questions while you’re in the middle of interpreting are the worst! It’s like mental gridlock when that happens.

In this case it was actually a meeting requested by the deaf client, who was a model for advocating for herself, so it wasn’t unexpected for the interpreters to get questions. The idiocy of the question, however, caught me totally off guard.
